I read the news today, oh boy...
(Yes, this site is still under construction. Never mind that now.)
First, we take care of our friends.
Jeanne Robinson, one of the most talented and beautiful women on the planet needs our help. Jeanne is married to Spider Robinson and together they won the Hugo award for Stardance. But now Jeanne needs financial support to help pay for critical medical treatment that is not covered by her insurance.
All the necessary details can be found at http://wedreamforjeanne.blogspot.com/. Please make a donation!
In the next few days, I will be donating an original tribble prop, an offer to read and critique someone's script, and a couple of very big items from Big Bang Theory. And maybe an advanced peek at the nearly completed draft of THAT book. (We'll see.)
Your job is to reach into your wallet and make a donation. Or bid on the items up for auction. But most important, help spread the word. If you know anyone who'd be interested in bidding on the items in the auction, let them know.
More shortly. Thanks.

Be patient. Rome didn't fall in a day either, you know.
Literary Agent: The Don Maass Agency, New York.
Convention Booking: Miles Rinis in So. Cal. E-mail me for his contact information.
Still looking for a Speaker's Bureau and a good agent in Hollywood.
You can find me on Facebook, but not on Twitter. I don't know how to limit myself to 140 characters.
My calendar is full until next April. Don't ask.
High Level Geekery! Please check out my bimonthly web-column for MaximumPC magazine. You can find the column here.
The Blu-Ray sets of Star Trek (The Original Series) seasons 2 and 3 have been released to positive reviews. CBS invited me to do a special tribbles commentary, the first time ever. So here's their free plug: Buy the discs.
Things I'm Looking For (but will probably never find....)
1. A redhead who owns a chocolate store.
Rachel Maddow continues to be one of the best news commentators since Edward R. Murrow. She actually deals with facts. Amazing.
Inglourious Basterds is one of the better pictures I've seen this year. Christoph Waltz gives us the creepiest villain since Heath Ledger's Joker and Brad Pitt's performance is one of his best ever.
Dexter gave us one of the best seasons of any TV series ever. Great performances by everyone, especialy John Lithgow. Lots of shocks, surprises and plot twists.
Avatar for sheer jaw-dropping, epic-scale spectacle. Good performances from everyone.
The Consumerist website ("where shoppers bite back") continues to hold the right feet to the right fires. Go to http://consumerist.com/
"I'm an old man, I'm gonna die soon, I have a right to be cranky."
Joe Lieberman, once again demonstrates why he's the worst Senator that money can buy. He doesn't stay bought.
Dexter for the last few horrifying moments of the last episode of the season. Yes, you can justify it dramatically. But I still hated it. Unfair.
Gateway Computers has made 'customer service' an oxymoron. When they do finally respond, they don't really do anything, not even apologize for not being able to do anything.
Acer Computers gets an honorary mention here. They own Gateway. The fish rots from the head.
Best Buy management. Visit The Consumerist website and see what other people have experienced at the hands of Best Buy's store managers. It's not a pattern. It's a policy.
Wal-Mart! Do you even have to ask why they're on the shit list? They're even worse than Best Buy.

Josh Olson wrote a marvelous rant for the Village Voice, called, "I Will Not Read Your Fucking Script." You can read it here. Be sure to read all the comments.
Then I wrote a response, which the editor liked so much he made it a sidebar. You can read that here. Some of the comments were nice, some were just wonky. (And to Gallagher G, I'm sorry I keyed your car, insulted your mom, poisoned your dog, did/didn't go to bed with you, and refused to read your fucking script. Okay?)
Now it gets really fun. Steve Jarrett wrote and Harlan Ellison did a dramatic reading of "I Will Not Read Your Fucking Script" as if Dr. Seuss had written it. You can find that here.
John Scalzi, a man of remarkable talent, adds his voice here.
Lee Goldberg commented on the fray here and here.
And Larry Brody's website TVWriter.com has some of best comments of all, mostly from other professional writers.
Very cathartic, all around.
